TOur factory manufactures well-fitting and warm wool socks, respecting traditions, Finnish craftsmanship, and our employees. The wool socks are made from hard-wearing carded wool yarn, which is 70% sheep’s wool and 30% polyamide.

The durability of our wool socks is also improved by reinforced heels and toes.

More information about our products

The wool used in Villasukki socks is ethically produced New Zealand sheep’s wool (mulesing-free) and approximately 10% Finnish sheep’s wool. The wool is washed and processed in the UK, from where it travels in bales to Pirtin Kehräämö in Jämsä, where it is mixed with polyamide and spun into yarn.

The wool socks are manufactured from start to finish in Helsinki. In addition to traditional gray wool socks, our selection includes wool socks in nine beautiful and atmospheric shades, dyed at the PMK dyeing plant in Kyröskoski.

Our wool socks are equally suitable for providing extra warmth on the sofa at home or, for example, as boot socks for demanding outdoor use.

By adding polyamide, we improve the abrasion resistance of the yarn, making wool socks more durable.

Every pair of wool socks that leaves the factory is checked individually by our employees, as high and consistent quality is a matter of pride for our company. The factory has been awarded the Key Flag symbol for Finnish work.

Whether you are looking for men’s wool socks or women’s wool socks, our wool socks are guaranteed to fit perfectly. The 3×1 rib knit on the leg and the non-constricting 1×1 ribbing at the top of the sock ensure a good fit.

Wool is a highly hygroscopic animal fiber – it can absorb up to 30-40% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet. When it absorbs moisture, wool releases heat. This, combined with wool’s natural thermal insulation properties, gives traditional wool socks their excellent warmth and breathability.
