By purchasing this product, you are donating warm wool socks to those in need.

Helsinki Villasukkatehdas’ partners in the campaign are Hurstin apu, the Salvation Army, and Vailla vakinaista asuntoa ry. The campaign targets low-income and/or homeless families and individuals in Finland.

The campaign has its roots in a joint campaign conceived by the Helsinki City Museum in 2019. Since its establishment, Helsingin Villasukkatehdas has strived to do charity work on a large scale, donating hundreds of pairs of wool socks to various causes every year. In the Warm Gift to a Stranger campaign, Helsingin Villasukkatehdas and its partners make the campaign possible, but you, our valued customer, are the one doing the good.

How does donating work?

1. Buy a gift card from our online store
2. We manufacture and package wool socks.
3. Hurstin apu, the Salvation Army, and VVA ry deliver wool socks as anonymous donations to those in need.

Sustainability

The high-quality wool blend and reinforced structure make these wool socks durable and resistant to wear and tear. They retain their shape and properties even with repeated use.

Helsingin Villasukkatehdas is a member of the Finnish Work Association, and our products carry the Key Flag symbol. Our wool socks are knitted from coarse wool yarn containing 70% wool and 30% polyamide. The wool used in our wool socks is ethically produced New Zealand sheep’s wool (mulesing-free) and approximately 10% Finnish sheep’s wool.

Delivery time approx. 1 week from order.

Yes! You can either donate wool socks by purchasing a Warm Gift for a Stranger product or a gift card easily and directly from our online store.

Products are subject to exchange and return rights. You have the right to return ordered, undamaged products within 14 days of delivery. Returned products must be saleable and undamaged – clothing may be tried on to check the size, but may not be worn. Always notify info@helsinginvillasukkatehdas.fi when you want to return a product.

Returns are sent using the return label provided by Posti or Matkahuolto, which you will receive when you notify us of the return. Returning a product is free of charge.

The package must be clearly marked “Return” and addressed to: Helsingin Villasukkatehdas, Holkkitie 14 A, 00880 Helsinki.

Please include your contact information inside the package.

The refund amount will be returned to the payment method used for the original order. It is also possible to exchange the product for another one.

We always deliver our products in intact packaging and carefully packed. If the package has been damaged in transit, you must immediately file a complaint with Matkahuolto.
